TEHRAN – Judiciary spokesman Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i said on Sunday that 67 people have been arrested in recent weeks as part of a corruption crackdown.

More than 100 government employees have also been barred from leaving the country, Mohseni Ejeie said, Mehr reported.

On Saturday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei approved a request from Judiciary Chief Sadeq Amoli Larijani to set up special revolutionary courts to facilitate fight against economic crimes.

“The goal is that the punishment of convicts of economic corruption be carried out urgently and justly,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.
